YALDA

Sacrifice – Firmness
Revenge – Justification of evil

In the image, a winged demon with fierce eyes sits on a raised throne. He wears an armor of gold and silver, military in appearance, rigid like a declaration of power. Yalda is the king of demons. In the Jungulus, there are three manifestations of the demonic: the Little Devil, mischievous and disobedient but often harmless; the Devil, malevolent and focused on the individual; and finally Yalda, lord of armies, the collective shadow whose full name is Yaldabaoth, the feared Gnostic archon.

Yalda is evil disguised as good. It is not hidden vice, not personal temptation: it is the thundering voice of peoples, the rhetoric that inflames the masses, the flawless logic used to justify the unjustifiable. The Devil covets the soul of the individual. Yalda desires the many. He speaks to entire nations, moves armies, turns revenge into duty and hatred into a sacred mission. His domain is consensus; his weapon, the perfect narrative.

Yet, like every force in the world, Yalda also has a face of light. In this aspect, he becomes discipline, firmness, the ability to act without hesitation when a martial guide is needed. He is the force that allows for noble sacrifices, the determination that moves mountains and protects what must be protected. But when the shadow prevails, Yalda brings total catastrophe: extermination, genocide, enslavement, slaughter. He is hell born from an ideal.

So my dear one, if your subconscious has chosen this card, perhaps it wants to tell you that:

If the card speaks about you – Light

Yalda may point to an inner strength that allows you to act with firmness and determination. Recognizing and channeling this energy without slipping into hardness is essential to transform personal power into discipline and positive guidance.

Questions for you
– Where can you channel a firm, incorruptible strength without becoming rigid?
– What sacrifice does the present moment ask of you in order to reach an authentic good?
– In which inner battle can you become your own martial guide?

If the card speaks about you – Shadow

When Yalda manifests in the personal shadow, it may indicate a tendency to justify hardness or to confuse revenge with justice. It is important to observe your motivations and to distinguish between legitimate defense and ego-driven aggression.

Questions for you
– Where are you justifying hardness as if it were the only possible path?
– What narrative are you following that turns personal guilt into merit?
– In which area do you risk confusing revenge with justice?

If the card speaks about the world – Light

Yalda can also represent collective movements that act with firmness and determination to protect, guide, or positively transform reality. Recognizing rightful martial forces and intervening responsibly can generate real change.

Questions for you
– What action, even if harsh, serves to protect your space?
– What movement, large or small, is transforming pain into active awareness?
– How can you contribute to a just struggle without feeding division?

If the card speaks about the world – Shadow

On a collective level, Yalda may point to evil disguised as good, ideologies that justify violence and oppression, and narratives that push the masses toward destructive conflicts. Becoming aware of these dynamics is essential in order not to be swept along by them.

Questions for you
– What collective power is disguising evil as a necessary virtue?
– Who around you belongs to a dangerous or harmful ideological group?
– At what moment might you have come into contact with Yalda without realizing it?
