In the image, a finely decorated vial recalls ancient herbal remedies and the small bottles of poison hidden up the sleeves of alchemists or assassins. What truly draws attention, however, is its content: a homunculus, a tiny human face staring back at the observer. It is the essential reminder that the first and truest ally in healing is ourselves.

Body, mind, and spirit move together, in battle or in dance, within the mysterious process of healing. The Remedy is a card that speaks of health in a broad sense, of the body as much as the mind. It speaks of healing, growth, and positive transformation, but it also warns against dependencies: going to therapy is a good thing; depending on the therapist is not. Taking medication may be necessary; depending on medication is not.

The point is not the cure itself, but the relationship we establish with it. This is not about the unavoidable dependence linked to a clinical condition, but about psychological dependence—the kind that prefers to eliminate the symptom rather than look at the origin of the illness. Every medicine is also a poison, and every poison can become medicine at the right dose. Understanding what wounds us is part of the path toward choosing the right remedy.

You may be tied to a habit or a “remedy” that comforts you but has lost its beneficial function. You may be seeking external solutions where a deeper inner descent is required.

– Are you looking outside for what can only be found within?
– Which false cure are you clinging to in the hope that it will resolve what you do not want to face?
– What do you fear would happen if you gave up your “favorite poison”?

If the card speaks about the world – Light

Around you there may be unexpected resources, allies, opportunities, people, or situations that hold genuine healing power. Sometimes reality itself acts as a great healer.

– What external help is showing real healing potential?
– Where is a possibility for improvement hiding that you had not considered?
– If you allowed what you have always desired to finally enter your life, could you heal?

If the card speaks about the world – Shadow

The world may offer apparent solutions: quick fixes, illusions of well-being, seductive advice that risks becoming dependency or causing more harm than healing.

– Is there something in your environment that presents itself as a cure but only feeds a need?
– Who or what is acting as a poison disguised as healing?
– Which simple solution is hiding a complexity you must face with clarity?
