But the Rebel is not devoted to crime or gratuitous destruction. His disobedience is an archaic form of personal morality, an inner sovereignty that does not always align with the rules of the “Empire.” What he generates is not evil, but chaos. What he defends is not the ego, but authenticity.

One can be rebellious in silence, without violence, even with gentleness. The Rebel breaks the rules because he feels a deeper law within himself, and the price of authenticity is often exile. He may be a liberator or an outcast, a hero or a demon, but never a slave.
