THE FOOL

Freedom – Genius
Irrationality – Psychosis

An unpredictable figure, outside all conventions, The Fool embodies the breaking of limits and established norms. In the image, a strange character—half ritual master, half carnival disguise—raises two scepters in the air. He wears unusual glasses, anachronistic within the historical setting of the deck, and a pointed hat, an ancient emblem of shamans, magicians, witches, fairies, and socially marginalized figures.
The Fool invites you to shatter paradigms and to stop fearing ridicule, allowing the spark of genius that makes the impossible possible to emerge. His creativity opens new paths, overturns habits, and generates radical intuitions, but it can also isolate and create frustration. As long as the Fool’s visions fail to take form and acquire practical usefulness for others, it often becomes impossible to distinguish genius from madness, leading to misunderstanding or exclusion. From this incomprehension may arise withdrawal into oneself, a spiral of self-reference that can lead to depression, along with the risk of falling into the abyss of psychosis and losing contact with shared reality. The Fool is therefore both a bearer of light and a warning about the mental chaos that undisciplined creativity and the perception of other truths may unleash.

Therefore, my dear person, if your subconscious has chosen this card, it may be trying to tell you that:

If the card speaks about you – Light

You are accessing a form of freedom that does not follow pre-established patterns. Within you, a space opens for genius, for intuitions that break rules and conventions and have the power to change your reality. The Fool encourages you to honor your originality, even if others are not yet able to understand it.

Questions for you
– Are you doing or saying something that will work, even if it is still incomprehensible to others?
– In which “crazy” idea is the spark of your creative genius hidden?
– Has the time come to claim total freedom of expression?

If the card speaks about you – Shadow

You may be overwhelmed by chaotic thoughts or by a rebellion that confuses destruction with freedom. The Fool in shadow shows how naïveté or misunderstood genius can isolate you, lead to frustration, or cause you to lose contact with shared reality.

Questions for you
– Are you mistaking a brilliant idea for a foolish one?
– In which corner of your mind are disorder and confusion accumulating?
– Are there visions or desires that are dangerously distancing you from reality?

If the card speaks about the world – Light

Around you, unusual figures, outsiders, or visionaries are carving out new paths. Collective madness and genius can open the door to revolutions and discoveries, inviting you to take part in innovations that are not yet understood.

Questions for you
– What creative madness around you is inviting exploration?
– Which outsiders or visionaries are pointing toward paths no one else dares to follow?
– Where can you recognize and support ingenuity that challenges conventions?

If the card speaks about the world – Shadow

The collective risk is that of widespread madness: dreams and ideas disconnected from reality, generating confusion or catastrophe. The Fool in shadow warns of deceptive narratives or poorly managed genius that can lead to ruin.

Questions for you
– What form of madness is causing chaos or harm around you?
– Who is following an irrational path without awareness of the consequences?
– Is someone around you suffering from psychological distress?
